For data questions, include the page URL, item name, BLS series ID if you have it, and the month you are checking. For corrections, send the specific figure, the source you are comparing against, and whether the concern is about a raw BLS observation, a derived Basket Report calculation, or page copy. Reporter requests should include deadline, outlet, and whether you need a chart embed, CSV, or short attribution line.
Basket Report does not estimate or interpolate missing item prices. When a BLS price is missing, the individual series remains blank; for the fixed 24-item headline basket, the last published BLS price may be carried forward and clearly disclosed. Basket Report does not provide city-level grocery prices when BLS does not publish them.
